As a Volunteer run project, there are a lot of different projects and activities we are involved in and a lot of members and volunteers too, sometimes it can be difficult to work out how best to keep in touch!
Saturday & Wednesday Volunteering

The best way of finding out about the project is to come along on Saturdays or Wednesdays and chat to one of our Site Leaders. Our regular site Leaders are Annalou, Katie and Alan. Site Leaders unlock the site and make sure our lovely volunteers are looked after, often provide tea and soup and a tour of the site to make visitors feel welcome. There’s always a selection of activities available if you’d like to help volunteer, or would just like to spend time in the garden, enjoying the flora and fauna. Our gardening volunteering hours are 12-4.30 , but we are often open later during the Spring and Summer, with regular social activities from 4.30 after the volunteering.
If you’d like to visit the garden and would like to send us a message to see what’s on, an Email (meadoworcharproject@gmail.com) is one option. Katie and Alan monitor the email so we’ll be able to get back to you with a prompt reply!
Website
Our website has just had a bit of an update and we are now providing regular blog updates through the year. You can scroll through the blog to see what we’ve been up to and any future events and current activities are on the events page.
Join as a Member
We maintain a membership list, as a member you will be invited to our General Meetings and AGM, it’s only Β£5 a year to join which is less than a pint these days! Members contribute to the agenda for meetings to help the project to operate smoothly. We really value our membership and the sense of community that it is helping to build.

If you prefer the convenience of instant messaging, we have a WhatsApp community with a number of different groups: Woodland & Meadow, Beekeeping, Gardening, Social and a number of others. Although as we are all a bit passionate about growing these can often get a bit spicy though, especially when culinary herbs are mentioned.
Link Page
We have a Linkspage or a Link in bio to keep all of our links in one place, theres lots of ways of keeping in touch but sometimes even we get confused by what these are so often use the linkpage ourselves! All of our Social Media is on there, instagram is a bit more current and there’s more interaction on there with our beekeepers and volunteers too. Please do @meadow.orchard on insta so we can see your gorgeous photos and vids of the site. It really does spur us on to see the love our volunteers have for MOP.
Social Media
We have Instagram, Threads, X, Facebook and Tiktok. Instagram is more visual and we love sharing photos of our seedlings like all of the best plant parents. Please humour us and give us a like and a follow. We need the support it makes us sad knowing only six people have seen the photos of our Rose-chafer Beetles and Deaths-head Hoverfly.
Shared Calendar
We try to post as much detail about our volunteering activities and events on our shared calendar on Teamup.
Our QR Code
A QR or Quick Response code is the square with the little pattern of pixel like square dots. If you have a smart phone and are that way inclined, you can scan the code and it brings up a link page. It saves the problems with getting mixed up when trying to type our domain and if you have a photo or scan our code on site it’s easy to remember our contact details. We have a little business card with a printed QR code if you’d like one.

Donate using our Givealittle.co link
We are a small volunteer run charity, and operate from the donations and grants we receive. So that we can sustain the project and help the site to achieve it’s potential as a beautiful amenity for the local community. In order to help achieve this we do need to ask for donations on occasion. Since we are based around Permaculture practice, we are pretty thrifty too, reusing, upcycling and growing from seed, because volunteers provide the labour for free the donations do go a long way.
Buy me a coffee (Or a plant)
As an alternative to the giveallitle donations link, you can donate using our buy me a coffee link!
Meadow Orchard on London National Park City

Are events are now on the London National Park City App and Website. It’s never been so easy to find out what’s happening at Meadow Orchard Project!
Meadow Orchard on London Capital Growth Network

London Capital Growth Network is an online database of community gardens and green spaces in London. Capital Growth regularly host campaigns and events and we’re always active in helping to promote these, Good to Grow, Urban Harvest or Happier Outdoors!
London Permaculture Network

The Meadow Orchard Project is a member of the London Permaculture Network, promoting sustainable living through community-led initiatives. It embodies permaculture principles by fostering biodiversity, organic food growing, and eco-friendly practices in an urban setting.
iNaturalist

iNaturalist is a phenomenal website and a brilliant way of sharing your wildlife observations. The Meadow Orchards Geographical Boundaries are mapped out in google maps so any observations on site can be located using your phones GPS service. It’s pretty clever but the website is global so we get hundreds of entomologists and wildlife enthusiasts helping to identify our observations. The resulting data and data analysis can then be put into a graphical form and results fed back to GiGL (Greenspace initiative for Greater London). It’s a superb citizen science project where a simple photo can provide a huge volume of information and contribute to a local and national wildlife survey and help document bio-diversity.
