Our garden space
Our garden space features multiple raised beds constructed by a team of volunteers for growing a range of seasonal annual vegetable and herb crops. We also have a large polytunnel for plant propagation and food growing, various other beds for medicinal herbs and perennial plants, a composting area and wormery.
Our orchard
A wide range of fruit tree varieties have been planted along the edges of the grassland area and perimeter of the site. Our orchard includes heritage apple and pear varieties, medlar, crab apple, cherry, plums, damson, quince, almond, apricot, peach, mulberry and hazel. We also have different berries and shrubs including gooseberry, sea-buckthorn, red and black currant, jostaberry, june-berry and Sechwan Pepper.
Get gardening
Everyone is welcome to help us maintain our growing areas, whether or not you have gardened before. Come along to one of our Saturday volunteer open days to learn about the plants, fruit-trees and growing spaces.
There are seasonal jobs to do all year round in the garden from preparing beds, mulching, sowing seeds, transplanting seedlings, watering, sieving compost, planting out, weeding, pest removal, harvesting, seed-saving, pruning and plant maintenance.
We’d love your kitchen waste too, to add to our community composting bays or the wormery!
