Meadow Orchard Project was set up in spring 2010 on 1.5 acre Metropolitan Open Land behind Hornsey Health Centre in Crouch End. The land has been designated for community use by the NHS and is being managed as a community garden, orchard and wildlife meadow by local volunteers.
The site offers a welcoming, peaceful and inspiring natural setting to simply enjoy being in nature, to meet people, to get involved in many different activities and to learn new things. The project aims to promote the health, wellbeing and creativity of the local community, provide learning experiences and build a sense of community. The project also aims to protect and enhance a unique and rare wildlife habitat in London.

Constitution of THE MEADOW ORCHARD PROJECT
How to find us: located behind Hornsey Central NHS Health Centre, 151 Park Road, Crouch End, London N8 8JD. Access is through the carpark to the gate at the rear fence. Look for the Meadow Orchard mosaic sign and noticeboard.
Transport: local bus W7 from Finsbury Park & Muswell Hill stops outside, other local buses W3, 144, 41 and 91. Nearest tube stations are Finsbury Park and Highgate or Hornsey over-land.
Access for wheelchair users: the main pathway to the garden area is hard earth and grass so is suitable for power-driven wheelchairs with sturdy wheels, unless it is very wet and muddy. Unfortunately the pathways around the wildlife meadow are not suitable for wheelchairs. We are currently installing a wheelchair accessible composting toilet, which aims to be complete by August 2018.
