GoodGym is community of amazing volunteers who get fit by doing good. GoodGym-ers run, walk and cycle to do physical tasks for community projects and to support isolated and older people.
This April we were joined by members of GoodGym Harringay who kindly offered to help out with some of the heavier jobs around the Meadow Orchard site. Wheel-barrowing woodchip sourced locally from Forbes tree care, composts, mulch and digging out biochar for use on our recently redevelop raised beds and meditation glade amongst our stands of Oak coppice.
A swift F1 style wheelbarrow tyre change ensured all six wheelbarrows where swiftly put into service, plastic troughs used on-top of barrows to double up each load too! Soon several tons of woodchip were distributed on site, all delivered at a brisk running pace too. Forks and spades were put into use and over the space of an hour the GoodGym volunteers and a couple of MOP regulars really helped get all of the bulk materials and soil amendments where they were needed on site.
The GoodGym-ers enthusiasm, good humour along with boundless energy were really appreciated!
