GoodGym is community of amazing volunteers who get fit by doing good. GoodGym-ers run, walk and cycle to do physical tasks for community projects and to support isolated and older people.

This July we were joined by members of GoodGym Harringay who kindly offered to help out with some of the various tasks around the Meadow Orchard site. Recent tree works has left us with a large pile of branches to process. The GoodGym-ers were given a breif induction on how to use a bow saw safely and process firewood, using a hatchet and chopping block. Other tasks involved processing some heat treated pallets using a pallet breaker, digging out composted woodchip to mulch beds and bramble clearing.
There were mixed emotions as the event marked both the 9th Birthday of Goodgym Harringay but we were also deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a well respected and loved Harringay Goodgym member Nurjehan Khan who joined the group on 273 GoodGym tasks! Our sincere condolences to Nurjehan’s family and friends. It was inspiring to see such a sense of community, warmth and love shown by the twenty amazing GoodGym volunteers who joined us on the day, coming from far and wide to be a part of the event.
Once again thankyou for your ongoing group and making memories at the Orchard!
