Spring Equinox Celebration Fundraiser ♪♫

We are holding a Spring Equinox Celebration at Meadow Orchard on Saturday 22nd March ’25, the line-up is sounding exciting! Proceeds to support Meadow Orchard Project community garden.

We will be offering a mixed range of activities during the day along with a Fireside song from 5.30. Check out our itinerary below:

Meadow Orchard Volunteering Session

Join us in the Garden Space as we mulch, sow and prepare our grow beds for the upcoming season.

March – Marzanna with Alex

1.00 –
On 21st March Polish people, especially children, celebrate the Marzanna! This tradition involves carrying a straw doll in procession through the town to end up drowning or burning it, symbolising the end of winter and welcoming the spring! We’ll be making dolls from willow, straw and wool to drown in our pond or burn on our fire!

Biochar & Rocket stove demonstration

2.00 – 4.00pm
See how to use a Biochar stove as we prepare a hearty veggie soup, we’ll also be baking some willow charcoal sticks for drawing with.

Animal Flow Yoga

Session with Edita 1.00 – 1.30pm
Animal Flow is ground based movement designed to improve strength, power, flexibility, mobility and coordination.

No, it isn’t about acting like an animal. It’s about improving the connection, communication and function of a human animal.

Mindfulness Session with Samara

1.30 – 2.00pm
Embodied movement & mindful stillness. This practice invites you to reconnect with your body and breath, allowing for intuitive movement. We’ll gently transition into deeper relaxation through breathwork and stillness, helping you fully reset and restore.

The Fair Weather Band

1.30 – 2.15pm
We will be joined by The Fairweather Band – a group of local musicians who meet on Hampstead Heath during fair weather during spring and summer.

Home Schooling Group demonstration

2.00 – 3.30pm Join the Home Schooling group for some willow weaving By Elemental Education

Seed bombs with Annalou

Annalou will be offering a session making bee friendly, native wildflower seed bombs. A great activity for families.

Join us around the fire circle for a strum and singalong! Ukes to try or bring your own, all ages and abilities welcome!

Emily Hannah, our local singing leader, will be leading a spring equinox singing walk.

Fireside song with Emily Hannah 5.30 – 10.00pm
Enjoy the first fireside sing of the year celebrating night and day standing equal. Arriving at Meadow Orchard we will gather round the fire and sing a song of welcome. Then the musicians will join us (guitar, cajon, acoustic bass, darbuka, mandolin, fiddle, cello and more!) and we can all join together for a singalong till late. There will be a range of classic rock and pop songs, (requests welcome if enough people know it) from the Beatles and Bowie to the Mamas and the Papas and the Kinks. All welcome!
