Unite for London Wildlife
Meadow Orchard Project are the proud new owners of a number of lovely birdhouses, kindly supplied by The Conservation Volunteers (TCV), in collaboration with The British Trust for Ornithology (BTO), and Green Tweed Eco. Proudly displaying The World Goes Around logo a band who also supported the project. The boxes were collected from the beautiful TCV Greenwich Peninsular Eco Park in 2024, with more to collect this January! We’ve also purchased a few extra Birdhouses from RSPB to make up the numbers. Birds at Meadow Orchard will have plenty of nesting sites to choose from this year!

Greenwich Peninsular Eco Park
For those not familiar with Greenwich Peninsular Eco Park, we’d highly recommend a visit. We particularly enjoyed watching the terns nesting on their little nest rafts and nipping over to the Thames to hunt!
Kind thanks to Greenwich Peninsular Eco Park for the amazing tour, the advice with our own wildlife conservation questions and having so much time for our volunteers! Tony at GPEP kindly offered to invite us back. Our volunteers will certainly be taking you up on that offer!
Green Tweed Co
The bespoke bird houses are specifically designed to offer safe nesting spaces for red-listed species such as sparrows. Tom Rawson (of Green Tweed Co), the visionary behind the project, emphasized the significance of bringing nature back into focus in the capital: “As our capital city, London is the ideal place to put Nature back into the eyeline of the nation. Bird numbers are declining across the country, but the London Communities Birdbox Project offers the opportunity to help out locally imperiled species. I am delighted to have had the support of World Goes Round to deliver this fun and exciting project.”
