We have a large woodchipped, open area at Meadow Orchard outside of our Roundhouse. This space is idea for outdoor learning, community events and outdoor workshop activities.
This area features a small firepit, parachute canopy which can used during wet weather to provide some rain protection. Picnic tables and seating are available on site and low tree rounds for children too. We have a number of rocket-stoves, biochar-stoves and kelly kettles for a more sustainable outdoor cooking experience.
The canopy is made by Das Outdoors from up-cycled ex-army parachute, repurposed as a bushcraft shelter.
Twenty five to thirty people can be comfortably seated under the parachute. It’s an ideal space for community gatherings, song groups and musicians. It’s also available for hire and is currently used by Home Education groups, Scouts, Drum Circles and Forest Schools.
