Meadow Orchard was founded in 2009. The photos above are from the Project in the early days in 2010. These images were included as a part of our planning application to build the Roundhouse. Some of the Architects drawing feature below.
The design process. These are some images of the initial design concept for the classroom at Meadow Orchard Project. The final design chosen was for a more traditional roundhouse design and a free standing cob oven, separate from the building structure.
It’s fascinating to see how open the site looked, before the planting of the avenue of fruit trees in our Orchard. Bramble and oak trees rapidly colonised the meadow to the far end. This has resulted in the dense thicket you see on site today, fifteen years later.
